MICHAEL BLACKSON

About the Show

Michael Blackson, the self-styled "African King of Comedy," returns in 2026 with a brand-new, high-energy stand-up tour packed with razor‑sharp roasts, fearless crowd work, and culture‑clashing punchlines. Born in Ghana and raised in the United States, Blackson blends West African sensibilities with American pop culture, delivering storytelling, improv riffs, and outrageous one‑liners. Expect fast pacing, call‑and‑response moments with the audience, and the unapologetic persona fans know from film cameos, Instagram sketches, and stand-up TV specials.

The show format centers on a 60–75 minute headlining set by Blackson, following a local host and one or two featured openers, with a DJ warming the room between acts. Many stops schedule early and late shows; late shows tend to be looser with audience interaction. Select dates may offer post‑show meet‑and‑greets and VIP photo ops, subject to venue rules and availability.

Blackson broke out nationally after Next Friday and frequent appearances on MTV's Wild 'N Out, building a massive online following and selling out clubs and theaters across the U.S., UK, and Africa. His brash, pan‑diasporic humor has influenced a generation of internet comics and helped broaden mainstream appetite for African voices in stand‑up. Beyond the stage, he opened the tuition‑free Michael Blackson Academy in Ghana in 2023, deepening his cultural impact while expanding his global fan base.

In 2026, expect a fresh hour tapping timely headlines, immigration stories, and playful jabs at internet culture, plus upgraded production, surprise guest drop‑ins on select weekends, and more theater dates alongside classic clubs. New waves of cities and venues will be announced throughout the year. All ticket prices display in USD at checkout. Get your tickets here! Inventory updates often happen daily.
